Present: Jerry Ford, Steve Klicker, Paul Ellerkamp, Glen Bruhschwein, Rocky Stoltz, Ryan Jilek, Alan Church, Michael Kreitinger, Jeremiah Thorpe, Alicia Erickson and Jon Stika. January 2014 Minutes of the Heart River Home Brewers

Present: Joel Empter, Paul Ellerkamp, Rocky Stoltz, Chip Ford, Ryan Jilek, Jerry Ford, Glen Bruhschwein, Alan Church and Jon Stika. December 2013 Minutes of the Heart River Home Brewers

  Present: Jerry Ford, Ryan Jilek and Jon Stika. Discussed the Radegast Club of the Year competition.  Jon will complete an entry for the club.  Discussed embroidered club shirts.  Jon provided Ryan with the electronic files of the club image that are formatted to run an automated embroidery machine.  Ryan will check with local businesses to see who could embroider the image onto shirts and the cost thereof.  Discussed cleaning the club barrels.  Barrel 1 Read more…

November 2013 Minutes of the Heart River Home Brewers

Present: Ryan Jilek, Rocky Stoltz, Jerry Ford, Alan Church, Paul Ellerkamp, Jeremiah Thorpe, Paul Ellerkamp and Jon Stika. Transferred Brown Ale out of barrel #1 into members kegs, buckets and carboys.  Jilek reported that barrel cleaning supplies have been delivered to him by member Bruhschwein.  Date will need to be set to transfer Scotch Strong Ale out of barrel #2 (currently at Stoltz’) and to clean both barrels.  This date will most likely be in Read more…

October 2013 Minutes of the Heart River Home Brewers

Discussed embroidered “Heart River Home Brewers” shirts.  Jon will send a message out to members to get a count on shirts desired then an order will be consolidated.  It was decided that the club will supply shirts to be delivered to the embroiderer in Bismarck. Scotch Strong Ale into Barrel

Ryan, Rocky and Jon transported the batches of Scotch Strong Ale (Wee Heavy) to Rocky’s, sanitized the second club barrel, hauled everything down into Rocky’s cellar and racked each batch into the barrel for aging.

July 2013 Minutes of the Heart River Home Brewers

June 2013 Minutes of the Heart River Home Brewers

Present: Rocky Stoltz, Jerry Ford, Ryan Jilek, Chip Ford and Jon Stika. Rocky reported on the ND Brewers campout at Sully Creek State Park.  Rocky provided a Treasurer’s report.  Sampled Brown Ale from the barrel.  The sourness has mellowed, a slight vanilla/oak flavor is present, malt flavor medium/low and body is a bit thin.  Overall the beer is taking on the characteristics of an Oud Bruin or Flanders Red.  It was decided to allow the Read more…
