Greg reported on YuleTyme event. All of the beer brought to the event was served (Brown Ale, Golden Ale, and Porter). Greg presented a donation from the Dickinson State University Heritage Foundation to the club to cover the cost of ingredients for the beer served at YuleTyme.
Discussed group order of malt from Two-Track Malting. There was not enough interest at this time to put together a 600 pound order. Members can contact Jared Stober at Two-Track Malting to purchase a 50 pound bag individually if they wish.
Discussed group subscription to Brew Your Own magazine. Several members were interested. The offer will be circulated at the next meeting to get the minimum of 10 subscribers needed for the group discounted rate.
Some members paid dues for 2019. Dues of $25 per annum for 2019 club membership will be payable at the January 2019 meeting. Members interested in the Brew Your Own group subscription can pay an additional $10 to be part of the group rate deal for the magazine.
Discussed participation of the club in “A Chocolate Affair Plus” tentatively scheduled for late April 2019. Motion by Stoltz, seconded by Stika to purchase a beer kit to brew for the event. Motion passed. Jon plans to brew at least two beers for the event in addition to the club kit.
Also discussed kegerator design and mead production methods.
