Discussed upcoming Brews and Blues event at Hawk’s Point.\u00a0 Event is scheduled for June 2, 2012.\u00a0 First choice location is the Badlands Activity Center, second choice the Dickinson Recreation Center.\u00a0 250 tickets will be sold at $30 each or 4 for $100.\u00a0 Food is planned to be supplied by local caterers.\u00a0 Goal is to have 20 home-brewed beers available for sampling.\u00a0 No sanctioned beer judging is planned for this event.\u00a0 Ryan will follow up with Hawk’s Point to see if the club will need to assist with brewing the beers for the Hawk’s Point residents.<\/p>\n
Discussed techniques of dry-hopping beer in the secondary fermenter and using oak chips for flavoring in the secondary fermenter.<\/p>\n
Discussed planning of beer judging at the K of C beer taste event planned for the last week of September.<\/p>\n
Jon mentioned that he will be brewing with Wyeast 1388 Belgian Strong Ale on the 25th and if anyone would like some of the yeast saved after primary fermentation to let him know.<\/p>\n
Rocky brought an Amber Ale.\u00a0 Paul brought an Irish Blonde Ale.\u00a0 Ryan brought cheese and sausage and a bottle of Avery Hog Heaven Barley Wine.\u00a0 Jerry brought Green’s Dubbel Dark Ale that was gluten free.\u00a0 Mike brought a Honey Ale.\u00a0 Heath brought a Pumpkin Ale.\u00a0 Jeremiah brought HefeWeizen.\u00a0 Jon brought Wasatch Polygamy Porter.<\/p>\n
