{"id":122,"date":"2010-05-28T20:53:46","date_gmt":"2010-05-29T00:53:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.heartriverhomebrewers.com\/?p=122"},"modified":"2010-05-28T20:53:46","modified_gmt":"2010-05-29T00:53:46","slug":"may-2010-minutes-of-the-heart-river-home-brewers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heartriverhomebrewers.com\/?p=122","title":{"rendered":"May 2010 minutes of the Heart River Home Brewers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Present: Ryan Jilek, Rocky Stoltz, Dale Sattler, Jerry Ford and Jon Stika.<\/p>\n<p>No Beer of the Month.<\/p>\n<p>Rocky provided a brief Treasurers report and discussed the issue regarding filing federal tax return for non-profit status.\u00a0 Since our non-profit designation is with the state of North Dakota, it was decided that we did not need to act on this issue.<\/p>\n<p>Dale brought Raddlefish Stout from Beaver Creek Brewery in Wibaux, MT and Ferocious Ale, a very hoppy Pale Ale.\u00a0 Jerry brought an IPA made with homegrown Perle hops.\u00a0 The beer was very good.\u00a0 He also brought an Irish Stout made with homemade malt which was nice and roasty and a bottle of wine made by a friend of his.\u00a0 The wine was cellared until next meeting.\u00a0 Jon brought a Dopplebock he brewed in 1995 that has been aged in his basement.\u00a0 It was very smooth, slightly sweet and chocolate-like.\u00a0 Ryan brought a Classic American Pilsner that included some corn, but had more body than commercial examples.\u00a0 Rocky brought a European Pilsner which was very smooth and balanced.\u00a0 Jerry paid annual dues and is now a member in good standing.<\/p>\n<p>Hop growing was discussed, as was the idea of posting everyone\u2019s hop production on the web site so hops might be shared and\/or traded between members.<\/p>\n<p>Jon Stika<br \/>\nSecretary<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Present: Ryan Jilek, Rocky Stoltz, Dale Sattler, Jerry Ford and Jon Stika.
